This training is offered to all RYT teachers and will provide 20 hours of CE credit through Yoga Alliance. Upon completion our teachers will have all the necessary tools and education to provide restorative classes with confidence.
The training will include:
· The theory of restorative yoga
· Physiological changes the practice creates promoting a downshift from the sympathetic to parasympathetic nervous system.
· The importance of correct body alignment
· Contraindications of poses to keep our students safe.
· How to set up the room – for smooth sailing
· Oils, music, when to speak and when not to speak.
· Props and prop substitutes
· Putting a class together to minimize movement /sequencing.
The poses we will study include:
· Legs up the wall / with props
· Supported boat.
· Side savasana.
· Instant Maui.
· Supported bound angle.
· Supported bridge.
· Supported child’s pose.
Supported reclined pose.
· Supported forward bend.
· Supported twists.
· Supported half dog.
· Wall hang / rag doll.
Training dates are:
September 23rd 1-7pm
September 24th 1-6pm
October 8th -1-6pm
COST: $550 WITH AN EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT OF $50 OFF
Students are required to attend a 1 hour restorative class of their choice prior to training and a 3 hour homework assignment to be completed at your own pace before receiving a certificate.
About the facilitator: Linda Hacker: E-RYT500 YACEP RMT, has been practicing yoga for over a decade, receiving her 200-hour teacher title in 2006 and her 500-hour level in 2009. She is also a “Relax and Renew Trainer” certified by Judith Hanson Lasater offering Restorative yoga classes to main stream classes , as well as, specialty populations.
In 2010 Linda completed the “Om Yoga Breast Cancer Survivors Teacher Training” and began a yoga program at “The Friends for Life Foundation”, working with cancer survivors for several years. Teaching a variety of styles and adapting the practice of Yoga to individual needs is her passion, believing the many gifts of yoga are available to all following their Svadharma (One's own way)
